Limits as of October 2026. Each preset aims a little under Discord's limit, so the file isn't rejected for being a few bytes over.

How to make a Discord emoji from a GIF

  1. Drop your GIF in above. The Discord emoji preset is already selected.
  2. Press Pull the shot. Gifpresso resizes it to emoji size and finds the best quality that fits under 256 KB.
  3. Download it, then in Discord go to Server Settings → Emoji → Upload Emoji.
